Nat Bartsch’s Lullabies (all ages)

In 2017 pianist/composer Nat Bartsch became a mother, In the early months of her son Will’s life, she wrote a series of lullabies with the ultimate goal of soothing babies to sleep (whilst also, importantly, soothing the parents). The resulting album, Forever, and No Time At All (ABC Classic) blends neoclassical piano and melodic improvisation with music therapy research. The album has far exceeded its original aim, now played across the world by people of all ages - literally from the birthing suite to the final hours of life. Happily, the lullabies also soothe many Melbourne babies and children to sleep, providing a soundtrack to the evening routine and the many lockdowns we have endured. Bring your baby/toddler (or just yourself!) to this special family-friendly matinee for the MWIJF.
