Acclaimed pianist/composer Monique diMattina presents STELLA – new music telling the extraordinary life story of Australian writer Miles Franklin.  Weaving together songs, gossip and Miles Franklin’s own words in a pan-genre narrative concert, diMattina brings her audience on an epic journey, from Franklin’s childhood in the Snowy Mountain foothills to fame as the young author of My Brilliant Career, years campaigning for women’s rights in the USA/UK, WWI field work and legacy as a champion of Australian creativity and culture.  With support from the Australia Council and Creative Victoria, featuring special guests Soleil Swann, Alma Zygier, The Brindabella String Quartet, The Receivers and a who’s who of the Australian Jazz/Roots scene.
