Beyond the Lake weave mesmerising soundscapes that transport listeners to tranquil realms. Their use of various effects and live looping techniques creates a captivating tapestry of textures, offering a soothing ambiance ideal for sleep, meditation, yoga, reading, and restless minds.

Beyond the Lake, a dynamic duo hailing from Melbourne, Australia, showcases the exceptional talents of Anita Quayle and Nick Delaney. Drawing from their extensive musical backgrounds, the pair brings a unique blend of electric cello, looping, effects, electric guitar, bass, and live looping to their ethereal compositions.

Anita's training at the Victorian College of the Arts shaped her improvisational skills, leading her to collaborate with renowned Australian musicians like Eddie Perfect, Russell Morris, and The Waifs. Meanwhile, Nick’s Bachelor of Arts in Music, specialising in composition, paved the way for his involvement with a diverse range of acclaimed bands such as ToeHider, Kardinal and Twelve Tone Diamonds.

Together, Beyond the Lake weaves mesmerising soundscapes that transport listeners to tranquil realms. Their use of various effects and live looping techniques creates a captivating tapestry of textures, offering a soothing ambiance ideal for sleep, meditation, yoga, reading, and restless minds. The genesis of their collaboration can be traced back to the numerous Covid lockdowns in Melbourne during 2020. Seeking to provide solace to those affected by the pandemic, Nick and Anita initiated a series of live-streamed improvisations known as "Music for Sleep." Over the course of this endeavour, they performed more than 50 captivating sessions on popular platforms like YouTube and Facebook. Their efforts culminated in the release of two mesmerising live albums, titled "Music for Sleep Volumes 1 and 2."

In April 2022, Beyond the Lake unveiled their highly anticipated first studio-produced album, "Coming Home." Drawing from their extensive live stream improvisations, this musical opus expanded upon their sonic and compositional palette. The album embraced a diverse range of instrumentation and sounds, including piano, orchestral strings, brass, and field recordings of nature. The result was a deep and rich musical tapestry that took listeners on a captivating journey. Recognising their immense talent, Beyond the Lake received the prestigious Creative Victoria 'Music Works' grant at the beginning of 2022. This significant achievement granted them the opportunity to record their latest album, ‘Transience’. Collaborating with some of Victoria's most creatively diverse and talented musicians, Nick and Anita envisioned a project that transcended boundaries. The nine remarkable musicians involved in this collaborative effort include esteemed drummer/percussionist David Jones, Simon Mavin and Paul Bender from Hiatus Kaiyote, Parvyn Singh, Josh Bennett, Carl Pannuzzo, Xani Kolac, Cristian Barbieri, and the inventive composer and creator of the AirSticks, Alon Ilsar. Despite their eclectic backgrounds, the shared desire to create from an inherently personal and intuitive space unified this exceptional group of artists.

Beyond the Lake released "Transience," in July 2023. As the culmination of their artistic evolution and collaboration with exceptional musicians, this release proved to be an enchanting and transformative auditory experience for all who embark on it’s sonic journey.
